My glasswork is essentially a celebration of the stunning flora and fauna of Atlantic Canada, but sometimes wanders into the realm of festivity and fun as well. New pieces are constantly being added to the collection; as ideas and dreams are turned into reality in glass. New for 2009 are the four-sided table lamps which are a magnificent addition to any home; watch for new & original "Beachwalk", "North Atlantic Right Whale" & "Puffin" lamps coming soon!

This transom window was commissioned by a couple who spent a number of years living in the Northwest Territory, prior to returning to New Brunswick. They wanted a window to capture their love of the frozen north, the mountains and the elusive, stunning aurora borealis. The client had a strong vision for the window, which helped inspire the final Earthglass design. The "dene" tent in the foreground is a special client request.

This client has a mother who loves Christmas and stained glass. Her daughter wanted a piece her mother could display in a front window, which would eventually be passed down in the family. She saw this Spectrum Glass pattern on my desk, and fell in love with it. It is included as an example that you CAN order custom stained glass without having to spend a fortune, and the end result will still be a cherished keepsake.

This client wanted flowers for a window, but she didn't want them in a panel, or a fixed design. She had seen my flower suncatchers, and asked me to modify a design of five clematis flowers, anchored by a flower that would appear to "grow" out of the window frame. That way, she says she can re-arrange whenever she wants, in accordance with her mood, and the light! Her request left me thinking that stained glass really IS only limited by the imagination!

This client needed to add visual warmth as well as light to a dark(ish) corner of her home. Her decor is primarily creams and beiges, punctuated by splashes of velvety blacks and warm reds. Additionally, she is a collector of Asian art. This lamp, depicting the Asian character for "destiny", is exactly the right finishing note for her space. The design was adapted from a panel by C. Pare.

Puffins are one of the hallmarks of a visit to Atlantic Canada. This Earthglass original design depicts a pair of puffins, one with a mouthful of herring -- enough for a (romantic?) dinner for both birds! Standing 6" wide x 12" tall on solid brass ball feet, this lamp is finished with black patina, and is signed and dated by the artist. The "flattened diamond" design means it is best displayed one bird at a time, and will fit perfectly into a bookshelf or on an end table. Turn it from time to time, so that both birds get a chance to be in the spotlight at your home!

Atlantic White-Sided Dolphins are a special treat in Atlantic Canada. Roaming in large schools that can number hundreds of individuals, they are the fast-moving acrobats of the sea. They can be rare, and seeing them ride the bow wake of a boat is a unique and wonderful thing. This panel, sized 24" wide x 17" high is an Earthglass original design. This pair of dolphins is surfing through a sea of aqua-blue waterglass, leaving a wispy white wake behind them. Finished with black patina, this panel is framed in 1/2" zinc. It is signed and dated by the artist, and comes ready to hang.

The ethereal, delicate beauty of a Luna Moth is unforgettable once you've seen one. I saw my first one on Grand Manan island last summer, and was moved to create an original glass design in an attempt to capture just a bit of this moth's loveliness. An interesting fact: Luna Moths live no more than one week after they hatch from their chrysalis, as they have no mouth or gut.

Lighthouses have played an intrinsic part in Maritime history, and each year, many thousands of visitors come to the Atlantic provinces to spend time touring lighthouses. As guardians of the sea, they have saved many ships and the men who sail them. It comes complete with all hardware, hanging chain and suction cup, and is signed by the artist. For more information, please contact Earthglass.

Beatrix Potter's characters have always charmed and enchanted me, so, when a dear friend became a grandfather for the first time, it seemed only natural to greet the arrival with a Peter Rabbit window panel. This is an original design based on the work of Beatrix Potter, and was a "welcome to the world" gift for little Christopher.

A Red-Winged Blackbird greets the new day from his perch on a bullrush. When I saw this pattern by Chantal Pare, I just had to make it. The choice of a combination of streaky, mottled and textured glass turned out very realistically -- and left me delighted with the result!

"Morning Surf" is the first in a series of four original new designs called "The Treasure Seekers", which are about the magic of childhood days spent by the sea on a sandy beach. Inspired by my love of salt water and sand, as well as by the work of painter Sally Swatland, this first panel is 12" x 24" in size, is framed in 1/2" zinc with traditional black patina, and comes ready to hang.

Travelers to Canada's east coast almost always ask where they can see puffins. The answer, most of the year, is out at sea! Waaaaaayyyyyy out at sea. Puffin Pair is adapted from a Paned Expressions studio design. This 21" x 16" panel uses a unique combination of opal and streaky glass which cause it to have an almost otherworldly glow when backlit. Framed in solid, ebonized oak, the glass is finished with traditional black patina. It is signed and dated by the artist, and comes ready to hang.

It is 14" tall, and is available at Serendipin' Art in St. Andrews, New Brunswick, or by contacting Andrea Kelter at Earthglass Studio.
