Two lampshades I've made based on imagery from the Life of Christ panels, Church of St. Florian, Koblenz, 14th century.

My work reflects the simplicity of the early cathedral windows that inspire it. Like the medieval artists, I use limited shading, stressing instead the graphic of the trace line. And like the early glass painters, most of my surface painting is done in brown and black. I prefer to highlight my images against panels of strongly colored glass, often red and blue. Decorative borders and backgrounds are as important as the image.
