The dog lampshade reflects the influence of my day job. Canine imagery shows up often in my work.
The Pagan lampshade is based on a 12th century window from Canterbury Cathedral which depicts Christ leading the Gentiles away from pagan gods.

My work reflects the simplicity of the early cathedral windows that inspire it. Like the medieval artists, I use limited shading, stressing instead the graphic of the trace line. And like the early glass painters, most of my surface painting is done in brown and black. I prefer to highlight my images against panels of strongly colored glass, often red and blue. Decorative borders and backgrounds are as important as the image.
