"Glass is an obsession, like a fresh, forbidden love or even daresay an addiction, never quenched, always driven to seek more - more color, more texture, more light, more of a performance from the glass in my hands. Glass truly has one chance to reach its full potential...I have to do my best...everyday." Mary Datwyler is a prolific full-time working glass craftsman, designing windows and glass art for residential, business and religious installations. She currently has work on six continents (anyone headed for Antarctica?)and has been featured internationally on HGTV and locally in electronic and in print media in New Mexico, USA. She is the owner of Sunflower Glassworks, a full service cold and warm glass supply shop in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. Mary teaches private and public lessons in glass at the Sunflower Glassworks shop and teaches in the continuing education program for the University of New Mexico. She makes numerous presentations annually on glass art to groups in the community including elementary school students, homeschool groups, senior centers, and to men's, women's and professional organizations.
